Fun Coffee Drinks

Can you use confectioners/powdered sugar for drinks such as tea, coffee, shakes, etc.?
Will the corn starch thicken the drink? My fiance and I are cooking from recipes now (which saves money, sometimes tastes better, and is fun), but I don’t want to get someone sick from switching the recipe around a bit. Thank you.
I really wouldn’t suggest using powdered sugar as a substitute in a beverage. If you are looking for another sugar substitute, try different types of extracts such as almond or vanilla, honey, fruit..etc.
